Several exciting things in our lives have happened since I last blogged.
1) Scott was able to quit his job at WiLife so he can devote all his time to College Works Painting, our wonderful home, and me. I guess that means I need to update out profile now.
2) Our old tenants moved out, so things are a LOT less stressful and dramatic around here. It's really nice not to have to worry about what to say, how to say it, when to be home, when to avoid being home, what to do when we get their dumb text messages asking us to cater to them, how to act when we can hear all kinds of obscenities being shouted inside our home...yeah, it's great to have them gone.
3) Right before the new tenants moved in, they asked if they could paint the basement, so we provided the paint and they did the work. It looks great! We also re-covered the dining room chairs, bought a new table (on a great clearance deal), and replaced the door. The door took a lot of work because we either had to pay a lot of money for a custom door, or do the custom work ourselves. We chose the latter, and bought the pieces to put a door and frame together. So if anyone needs the drill bit for drilling a hole for a doorknob, you know who to call. :)
4) Our new tenants moved in - Ace, Lara, and their baby Adrian. Yay! If we're really quiet at night, we can even hear the baby crying while he's being put to bed. It's kind of fun to have a little one around the house.
5) I took a promotion at E*TRADE, so now I work for the Elite Services team. Basically, now I help customers that have more money in their accounts and/or place a lot of trades (consequently generating more profits for the company). For the most part, I like it better than what I was doing before. I love the schedule, too, because I'm 11am-8pm now instead of 1:30pm-10pm. More time in the evenings with my baby! That's the husband, not the kitty.
I suppose it's safe to say we've been busy! But we are happy, and things are settling down a bit. And we're both glad to enjoy the peace and quiet!
