They were going to walk right by the ash tray on their way back in...

Earlier this evening I was waiting outside of E*TRADE for Scott to pick me up, and I decided to go enjoy the flowers. It wasn't very long before I noticed that the flower beds were chock full of cigarette butts! I was shocked and saddened. I started counting (half out of boredom, half curiosity) and Scott showed up when I reached 60 so I didn't get to finish. And that doesn’t even include any that I saw on the ground.

If they want to deliberately shorten their lifespan and invite cancer into their bodies, that's their choice. But when they choose to destroy the beauty of the world we all share, that is too far in my book. It’s utter laziness. On the way back into the building you would have to take less than 10 steps out of your way to swing by the ash tray. Does it make you cool if you put the butt in the flower bed or something? Or does smoking make you become lazy? Or is it just that the people who are that careless with their body are also careless about the beautiful Mother Earth?

Maybe I'm just intolerant because I've never smoked a cigarette before, and I guess I should give credit that there are probably a lot of butts that make it to the ash tray. But honestly now. I snapped a few shots on my phone of what I saw:

Sigh.
