Slowing Down

I took Brady to an Easter Egg Hunt at the Lavell Edwards Stadium last Saturday, followed by a BYU baseball game. I did my best to slow waaaaay down and let him do the little things he enjoys--tried to get down on his level and see the world as he sees it. When he asked me if he could do things like run up a hill or touch a tree and I said yes, the joy in his face was heart-warming. It's fun to watch him flourish when I slow down and allow him to do so! He definitely had fun picking up eggs and candy off the football field, and running to give Cosmo and the Easter Bunny high fives at the baseball game. But when I asked him later what he had done today, he told me in this order: "play dirt. Touch trees. Run up hills." Clearly, the best part of his day was that I let him do the things he wanted to do! It's more fun to be a mom when I'm not in a hurry. :-)
