The BEST part about being a business owner

Scott has been working hard all summer, building a great business through College Works. Much of the time he was working VERY hard for VERY little pay. Now, the tables have turned. :) When I got home from work yesterday and we were getting ready to go to the gym, Scott casually volunteered the following information:

"Today when Edgar was taking a nap, I squirted him in the ear with a squirt bottle. He was sleeping so soundly that I squirted him 4 or 5 times before he got up to move to a new napping location."
"Wow....what else did you do today?"
"I played Guitar Hero, and I got through My Name is Jonas on Medium only missing one note!"
(in his defense, he also wrote an essay for his online Humanities class)

Honestly, he puts in about 5 hours a week with College Works these days. His job is to make sure his painters have paint and go to the job site, and do an occasional estimate or test patch and collect a check. Thank heavens he doesn't have to hire, train, or market anymore! And, the painters are staying at our house too, so to make sure they go to work, all he needs to do is roll out of bed at around 9 am and tell them to get up. They are both usually out the door within about 6 1/2 minutes. Then he gets back in bed and we cuddle until I have to get up for work. Life is rough.

Which got me thinking...this would have been a PERFECT time to have a baby. Imagine...we bring home our brand new baby from the hospital, and he gets TWO full time stay-at-home parents. We would have equal diaper duty, Scott could clean the house and do laundry while I fed the baby, and the rest of the time could be spend watching movies and going on walks together, taking lots of pictures, and making great memories! In reality, what will probably happen is Scott will be in the middle of a semester and will be crazy busy with all his midterms when our first baby is born (TBD!), the house will be messy all the time because the baby demands my attention all the time and refuses to sleep, and I will be tired and lonely because Scott will be on campus for 18 hours a day. And it will be impossible to make ends meet. Ah well. It can't hurt to dream, right?
